We are dedicated to making sure that our players have fun, but most importantly that they are safe!

  • All clubs have been tasked by the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association to develop "Return 2 Training" protocols.  Below are the protocols currently in use by Clawson Soccer.   Please be aware that these protocols are subject to change at any time depending on what phase the state is in at the time of the proposed program service.
  • Our goal is for the kids/parents who are ready to participate to have the opportunity to get out and play in a safe environment.

What We Are Doing To Keep Our Players Safe

Registration Process

Registration for the Recreational Spring Season will run from January 10th through February 14th.  Registration for the Recreational Fall Season will run from June 15th until July 31st.

All returning players will be awarded a spot on your previous team. New players or players wishing to switch teams, will be assigned a spot on a first come first serve basis. This applies to regular registration only, late registration is always first, come first served.

Players team/coach request, and desire to “play-up”, will be handled by the division manager. While they will do their best to grant these requests, they are not guaranteed.

Things to know...

Spring 2021 games begin approximately the weekend of April 10th and run through June 5th.

We begin to build the teams on March 1st.  Teams are built based on the player's birth year.

Coaches will be identified based on volunteerism within active registrations.  We will hold our coaches meeting approximately the third week of March.  Coaches will set their practice schedules at that meeting.  Look to hear from coaches the 4th week of March.  Your child's coach will be the primary point of contact.

Practices generally begin about two weeks prior to the start of games.  Practice days and times are up to the coach's discretion.  Games are typically on Saturday and/or Sundays, depending on team and field availability.   However, it is possible to have a weekday game if field availability is limited.  Weekday games are scheduled at the discretion of the game scheduler.

Clawson Soccer uses the SportsEngine App to communicate schedules and important information such as field closures and events.  Once you have registered your child, please download the App to your device.  Once your player has been added to a team, you will receive an invitation to join the team page.  Please follow the instructions provided within that invitation to opt-in to communications.  Once you have opted-in, you will be able to view the schedule, the roster,  and communicate with your team.

Why Birth Year?

Registration Fees

U4-U6 = $40
U7-U10 = $60
U11-U19 = $70

No additional fees apply after two siblings are registered, players 3,4,5..... play for free!

Registration fees cover player's insurance, equipment, field maintenance, state fees, ref fees, administrative costs and are non-refundable.

In an event that a check bounces or a credit card is denied, the player's parent will be emailed and given one week to correct the error before the player's registration is canceled.

Late Registration

Late registration for the spring season will run from February 15th until March 15th or when teams are full, whichever comes first.  Late registration for the fall season will run from August 1st until September 1st or when teams are full, whichever comes first.

A $20 fee will be added to the regular fees for late registration.

When late registration opens, a “needs list” will be posted on the website listing open positions on current teams.  New teams will not be formed during late registration.

Registering during late registration does not guarantee you a spot on a team, it's on a first-come, first-serve basis. If your registration is denied due to no openings, you will be notified and your credit card will be refunded. You will then be put on a waiting list should any positions open.

Team and Coach requests may not be honored during late registration, players will be placed on teams as needed.

Age Group Information

U4 - This age group runs for 6 weeks on Saturday mornings from 9-10am at Grant Park.  The Fall sessions are an introduction to soccer through age-appropriate drills and fun games that work on field independence, following the coach's directions and sharing the ball!  Spring is a continuation of building the skills listed above as well as adding traditional soccer games.  Team shirts are included in your registration fee.

U5/U6 - This age group runs for 8 weeks.  Coaches will select a practice night during the week with games played on Saturdays at Grant Park.  Game times are determined by the game scheduler based on field and team availability.  Team shirts are included in your registration fee.

U7-U19 - This age group runs for 10 weeks.  Coaches will select a practice night/nights during the week with games played on the weekend.  Game times are determined by the game scheduler based on field and team availability.  Jerseys are not included in the registration fee.  Orders can be placed using the link below.

In all age groups, occasionally, adjustments need to be made to game schedules to accommodate rescheduled games due to rainouts/cancellations.  In some cases, weekend games are not possible so weekday games may need to be scheduled.

While we make every effort to reschedule all rainouts/cancellations, sometimes if the season is running short, a reschedule is not possible.  We do not guarantee a specific number of games per registration.

Jersey Information

Jerseys for U4 - U6 age groups are provided by the league and included in your registration fees.

In an effort to reduce cost and waste, U7-U19 players will now be required to buy two jerseys through Top Cat Apparel.  Jerseys cost $15 per piece.   All Clawson teams will now be using the same two jersey colors and players may use those jerseys as long as they desire and even pass them down to younger siblings.

Advertising and names will not be allowed on the purchased Jerseys.

Black shorts are recommended and can be purchased on your own.  Socks may be any color as long as they cover the shin guards.

Purchase from the Top Cat WebStore starting March 11th.  Uniforms ordered by 11:59pm on March 19th, will be shipped to the club and distributed to your coach prior to the first game.

No new orders will be accepted after March 19th.

Purchase from the WebStore by clicking the following link:

Financial Hardship

Full scholarships will no longer be given, but a reduced registration rate of $15 per player will be offered to families with financial hardship.

Financial Hardship refers to low-income families or families with extenuating circumstances that make it impossible for their child to play soccer without assistance.

Click here for the application form.  Email completed forms to the registrar by February 1st for the spring season and August 1st for the fall season. Under no circumstances, will applications will be accepted after these dates.  If approved, a discount code will be sent back to you to complete the registration process.

A set number of applicants will be accepted, the number will be determined by the board. Those accepted will be based on a first come, first serve basis based on the postmark on the registration envelope.
